Metronome and first beat

Keep time while you loop, and line the beat grid up with the music.

  • Mark the first beat so the metronome and song structure line up with the track.
  • Turn on the metronome to keep steady time while you practice a loop.

On Bluetooth headphones the flash can land after the click. Open the metronome’s settings, tap Fine-tune…, start the metronome and nudge the value until the circle flashes exactly on the click.

💡 Tip: Get the first beat right before you build loops — it’s what makes the metronome, tempo, and detected structure all line up with the music.

💡 Tip: Practicing against a click exposes rushing and dragging that you won’t notice when you play along with the recording.

💡 Tip: On an Apple Watch you can start the metronome and set the tempo with the Digital Crown.
